Rudi and Adolf Dassler

Alright, so a few years back, I was really into shoes.. like, really into shoes. I bought all the expensive and new shit, but to me, that wasn't enough. I had to actually have knowledge about shoes. And I think the most interesting thing I came across was about Rudi and Adoph Dassler.

Rudi and Adolph were brothers who started Gebruder Dassler OHG in 1924. They supplied athletic shoes to the German Olympic team in 1928 and 1932. Perhaps the biggest moment for the Dasslers is when Jesse Owens won his gold medals pissing off a very already angry Hitler, while wearing the Dassler's shoes. But for some reason, in 1948, disagreements brought about the down fall of the company and Rudi moved to neighboring town. Each starting their own, individual and unique shoe company.

Adolph or "Adi" then became the founder of his own athletic brand of shoes that would focus on trainers, which would later be worn by both Joe Fraizer and Muhammad Ali. In 1949, the three stripes became trademark, and Adidas was born. And around the same, Rudi went on to make his own company as well, he's also known as the founder of Puma.

Something interesting, ADIDAS comes from Adi's first name, and the first letters of his last name. "adi" from his nickname, and "das" from Dassler.

Hope you guys enjoyed this!
